Hm, somehow that seems oh so familiar... Maybe because she's done so >9000 times before?
Well, I don't blame her.

What!? 9000!?[/b]
But in all seriousness, Vegeta, I don't think it's quite as bad as all that. So what if once in a while she takes a break from the forums? You know that she always comes back again.
Just give it some time. Until then, there's no reason people can't make their own RPs on the site, or why it has to go dormant either.

That reminds me, you still need to come up with a story and new title for the currently titled ZOMBIE RP OF DOOM!

I'm a little angry right now. I just spent four days in New Orleans with about 200 others being taught by some of the Japan Karate Association's highest ranking instructors. Today I took the exam for Shodan (the lowest level of black belt), and they failed me. I'm retesting in November.
I did well. My instructor said I did well. He had no idea why I failed. None of my class did. In fact, everyone else in my class passed. So about halfway back home on the drive from New Orleans, my teacher and I talk on the phone. After I had left New Orleans, he went and talked to one of the instructors to see what I had done wrong. They said, bluntly, it was because I was young. They failed me, simply because I was 16. Apparently, they do this to all minors, to test dedication. If I would still come back after failing, I can pass.
That's a good thought, but...training for a solid five years straight should tell them that I was dedicated. And some of the fellows who passed were older people who had dropped out of karate for a decade and a half and had jumped back in only recently.
I don't know, maybe I'm just ranting because I'm pissed that I failed, and failed just because of my age. I feel like they just blew off all the work I've done to get to that exam, just to see if I'm patient enough to wait four months. I don't know...I'm just irate.

Oh, I know that feeling. Way back when, me, my siblings, and my cousin were all in this same dojo. When it came time to test to enter the Green Belt stage, they failed me and my cousin, which I am sure, was just because we were eight/nine ( or around there, my memory sucks). At least they openly told us that we couldn't ascend to blackbelt until we reached 18, atleast. But still, I feel your pain there.

Well, I can certainly understand why you're pissed at their decision. But, I tend to agree with their policy. Think about it: if a student studies for five years, takes the test and fails, then their dedication to the craft is in question. If, however, they fail, and then take the test again, as you are, then their dedication seems more stalwart, wouldn't you say?

You seem to be misunderstanding. He took the test, and the overseers openly said to his teacher that he did just as well as the rest of the class. They're literally failing him, just to see if he'll try again, his dedication really shouldn't be in question. It's not like he's any less good, or practices less then any of the others.

No, I understood the first time. As I understand it, they're doing this based on the fact that he's younger than his peers. Maybe they think that because of this, he may be less committed to learning? I'm not saying that he is less committed, and certainly, it doesn't really seem fair if you've practiced as hard as the others.
I guess what I'm getting at is that martial arts, as I understand them, involve more than just simple proficiency in technique. Maybe because of the younger age, they want to ensure that he has the mental discipline required for somebody of that rank. And, the way that they see it, this is one way of testing for that discipline.

I tend to agree on DarkNova on this matter.
