As it is entitled. What race would you be? This is not restricted to TES, or even known fiction- if you can make it up, do so. Give reasons for why you think this race represents who you are. Ditto for if you give opinions on races other people might be. This is a thread about what race you think suits you best, as opposed to which race is most appealing to you, although you are allowed to do both as long as you distinguish between them. ---------- I used to think I'd be a tiefling from the Forgotten Realms universe, but now I think I'm more like a fox-version of the ohmes. Before, quite honestly, I thought I found it pretty hard to be good, and I've always been an excellent liar, but now I feel less like a servant of evil (which sucks, somewhat. being evil is fun...) and more like I just play tricks on people because it's my nature. I'm also crazily good at hiding, being rather small, but I feel I'd be a predator nonetheless on account of my insane temper and unwillingness to be dominated. I'd most like to be a half-dragon- because being related to a dragon would be SOOO awesome. But I'd settle for an argonian, because they are scaly and cuddly and have uber-cool tails. Now you guys have a go.

I've always found my deepest association to come with the Bretons. If one notices, all my characters that I try to base off of myself are Bretons. It's not because they are human, I am human, and so I figure it fits, but more because of the culture and their abilities.
While inherently awesome at magic, the Bretonic race is also highly well known for their swordsmanship (A fact that is completely ignored by the games, which make them sound like exclusively master spell casters and nothing more). Their kingdoms and knights literally rule by the sword, their culture highly reminiscent of Medieval Europe. (I think Breton is actually a French locale as well.) While many of them are master spellcrafters, they also sport swordsman, bowmen, and thieves and spies of remarkable skill. They just had to work hard to gain that skill, unlike their more naturally gifted racial counterparts for their trades.
I've always considered the Bretons to be a Jack-of-all-Trades people, and I associate with that well. Even the most common Breton can access magic, and with some refinement gain a decency of skill. It really allows them to take the position of a Battlemage easily. More so than the Imperials.
And so, like a vast majority of Breton populace, I am a Jack of all trades myself. When I set my mind to a task, I can find a way to complete it. I've always looked at myself and wondered what my greatest skills are. But for every create skill I have (mathematics, Sciences, video gaming) I have crippling flaws that send me down to a slightly above average level. (biggest flaw being memory. Periodic Table? Hell, that's going to be a pain in the arse to memorize for this years chem class.) I'm not overly skilled at anything, but mediocre in just about everything. Once I set my mind to it I am quite capable, however.
This quality, mized with my love of symbology, abstract thought, philosophy, art, swords, and magic, has always made me feel like I can identify most with a Breton, of all races.
But I am quite in Favor of the Dunmer, and the Nords. Nords especially, as there is so much culture about them that is forgotten by most people as they hear of the Nord Stereotypes.

If I had to choose.....it would either be the Nothren of Illacor, or the Ibisarions of Mancia. Both races are very intelligent, and both armies are well equipped and supplied. However, in the end I would probably have to give the nod to the Ibisarions, basically because of their Frozen Grove and the fact that unlike any other race they harness the power of raize.

For TES, I honestly don't really fit into any of the races. Possibly a more optimistic Altmer. I already have their pride, I'm ashamed to admit. And I love the idea of being a sorcerer. In a DnD setting...if we're talking base races, again, it's hard to place, but I line up most with Rock Gnomes. I know, kind of a long jump from Altmer to Gnomes, but the Gnomish part would be the 'more optimistic' quality I mentioned about the Altmer self. Beyond the base races: Bronze Dragon. Or a human in the service of a Bronze Dragon. More than anything, I see myself in one of the races of the world I'm making up in writing. Their name is still in progress, but the current name is Jehasim. About a foot taller than a human (who may not be present in this world), covered in fur on its torso, arms, and legs (less on the face), and very large ears. Based on a bat, obviously.

Hehe, I would mark you as an Ewok, Frank. Or a werepuppy. Something dangerous in it's own way, but that looks harmless and is very enthusiastic about everything it does, as well as loyal to its people. (slight joke here with the races chosen, but I really can see you as something like that.) I can totally see you as a Bronze dragon Tom. Big, scary, prideful, and very wise and talkative. Their the most friendly to non-dragons of the metallics, aren't they? Hmm... if I were a dragon, I'd probably be a copper. Quick and mean-tempered. But I don't think I'm prideful enough to be a dragon. Or big enough. The fox creature is a unique individual in my story. A magical mutation of a more animalistic race.

Hm... I have thought many, many times on what race I would be if I could be something else, but I have never truly settled upon anything. The closest I have come to deciding upon a creature/race that would fit me was a White Dragon, one of those evil frost dragons. I'm both cool towards my enemies, devious in nature, undoubtedly villain like, and have a penchant for suppressing emotion and turning it into an almost ice-like fury. But, perhaps y'all would be able to come up with a better option.

You would be such a funny villain. You would be just so darn excited at having the power to freeze your oponents/crush them under your massive weight/eat them that you'd be a very happy white dragon. Or, at least, this is the picture you're post put into my head. Can't say I can think of a better option, although perhaps a half-fiend (read: NOT tiefling) would be a good option. Being descended from satan is about as evil as it gets, yes? Plus, you could walk down the street past some old lady and she'd die of a heartattack. Fiends are pretty ugly... I sense I digressed somewhat, but meh. I like the dragon idea.

Hey, the half-fiends from Icewind Dale 2 had great accents, not heart attack inducing features. Yeah... I'd wanna be a halfdemon just for the awesome accent.

Great, the first thing that popped into my mind after you said that was your innocent little 'Glee!' version of Godzilla. XD You have forever ruined my image of the white dragon, I hope you're satisfied.

I forgot about Zilly. I love that great lumbering oaf so much... shame we didn't keep that running long enough for her to die, I was going to play Doctor Who next... And heh. What can I say? Ruining things is one of my many unappreciated talents.
