OOC: Wow, isn't Lex the goody-little-two-shoes now? ... lol IC: Wilfric looked up from the meal that he was enjoying, and smiled to Maryella to show his appreciation for it. It actually was quite good, she was an excellent cook. It didn't quite compare with the gourmet meals that he received from some of the finer chefs in Cyrodiil, back when he still actually used his money on anything but furthering his goals, but she was a good cook all the same. Simple, and not altogether creative, but with enough flavoring to give a nice bit of taste without making it overly complicated to make. He began to respond, only to have something very strange happen. As Shelby landed on the floor above them, he paused, the pull on the back of his mind that had announced the presence of a Shade amplifying tenfold. He had sensed her before, and just not cared, but now... Now, this Shade was very, very close. Indeed, it was like there was a pull being exerted on him from his seat, yanking him up towards the ceiling. Slowly, he traced his gaze from his plate, up to the ceiling, looking thoughtful for a few moments. What was this woman doing? Did she not know the danger of dashing into someone's home when there were not one, but two people there? But, he would point that out to the Shade later. Whenever Wilfric actually met her/him, face to face. But for now... He slipped another bit of the food past his lips, chewing thoughtfully before swallowing. "Well, among other things, you're a very good cook, Maryella." He complimented her, already working on an excuse to head upstairs. He wasn't about to lose this chance...

OOC: No kidding. Sheesh. Oooh, look at meeeee! I'm a real girl now! IC: Eating dinner. How remarkably droll., Shelby thought with a disappointed look on her face. Her stomach rumbled slightly at the thought of food; she had not eaten since morning, and the smells wafting up through the floorboards weren't helping matters either. "Shush, you!", she whispered to her midsection, taking a brief moment to look around the room. Quite obviously it was a woman's bedroom, not lavishly appointed but still a good cut above what the average working man's wages could afford. She thought about looking around for valuables, but decided against it. Common thievery was below her, and a further warning growl from the Darkness cemented the decision. She would leave no trace of her passing. The feeling of greasy shadow had become almost overpowering since she'd entered the home, and she felt rather dirtied by it. Despite this, it gave her a sense of comfort, almost as if she was where she needed to be. She moved her hair back from her ear and pressed it to the floor once more, concentrating as much as she dared on listening for anything interesting.

OOC: Anorexic cats make lots of noise, bless them. Not enough fat to pad their landings... ....... @fc: Just making this quick. By your choice, of course, Lex can have accidentally left him behind. But that would be annoying. Funny, but annoying. IC: Lex looked back, swishing her long golden tail, and saw the Phorease was struggling. She could support him, but her wolf-mind didn't consider that. She trotted around, coming up behind him and knelt, going between his legs before standingup again and removing his legs from the ground. She moved in such a way as she would steady him, and he would not fall off, tossing him forwards lightly so that his arms would naturally go around her neck. She was much... much bigger now. A large, dominant, golden she-wolf. But she didn't think that perhaps Phorease would look unusual on wolf-back. She broke into a trot, then an all-out run as she raced towards Beacon Manor. People barely had time to point or stare as the wolf charged past them, until finally she was standing before doors of Beacon Manor. Golden Light bloomed as Lex began to change shape, shrinking and becoming more slender-boned and less hairy. Phorease's feet would touch the ground again. Finally, the light faded as Lex was fully formed, crouching down on all fours. She scooted out of the way and rose to her feet, dusting herself off. She gave a brief, wolfish grin to Phorease before knocking loudly on the door. There was no answer for a moment, but then the door creaked open to emit a brilliant light that nearly blinded Lex. She blinked in rapid succession, and as her vision cleared, she saw an angel standing there, glorious in its perfection. "Come in..." the angel said. "Dorien Rune is busy, and you will be too."Lex gazed at the angel for a moment, her expression queasy as if she were about to be sick. Her deep, deep excusion into the darkness still left a mark on her: afterall, she had given her heart to it, surrendered her entire will. But after a moment, a smile grew, and she danced in with a laugh. OOC: I find the Pinocchio-esque situation rather funny. Besides, she only just switched sides drastically. I'm sure it must be like your first heavy drag, and leaves you sorta... duuuuudddde! IC: Phorease shouted in surprise as something warm and furry went between his legs, and he was lifted off his feet and tossed forward onto Lex's back like a doll. Naturally his arms went around her neck as she trotted, then ran, and he tried to keep his staff from hitting passerby along the way. When his joyride was over, he collapsed onto his rump as she moved away and changed, holding his head in one hand as his knee propped that arm up. After a second of collecting his balance, sense of direction, and internal control of digestive processes, he looked up to see her grinning wolfishly at him. "I have never met a woman.... ugh." He interrupted himself to get to his feet, propping himself on the staff. "As determined as you are... to discover what my breakfast was." He remarked, regaining his composure in time to see the angel answering the door. Phorease rarely went bug-eyed. But already he was making a record by doing it once more for the second time today, as he gazed upon the angel before him. A perfect form, skin smooth as a newborn's and eyes as vibrant as a discovering child. The radiance alone left a searing white light in his eyes, blinding him momentarily. And yet, when the perfection spoke, it seemed to wash away the blindness with the ease of a mother wiping the tears of her child. "Come in. Dorien Rune is busy, and you will be too." Lex seemed hesitant to follow the being, but then she smiled widely and danced into the manor, laughing. Phorease rose one eyebrow critically at this, unsure what to gleam from the behavior. At a more gentlemanly, cautious pace he entered as well, closing the door behind him and then leaning on it, eyes closed. "Alright... if Dorien isn't here-" Phorease opened his eyes and glanced at the angel for only a moment. "-can you direct me to the potion stores, and the kitchen?" ------------------- Sound, of course, pierced the four stone walls, but there was a second barrier to pass before reaching one who could hear it. Lee brushed the charcoal over the canvas with a lovingly soft, caressing touch, each stroke a bare scrape upon the surface and leaving a faint trail of gray. He was fully engrossed in his work now, ignoring the entire world in the pursuit of manifesting that which now sat within his mind. ------------------- "Among other things?" Maryella inquired, arching an eyebrow at Wilfric. She took another bite of her meal, chewing it slowly and looking at the ceiling as well, though more gazing off than listening in or 'sensing'. When she swallowed, she looked back down at him. "And what might you mean by that?" OOC: And ain't it time for a new thread?

OOC: What, does no one remember the whole 'I didn't make any new friends today, so now I'm EVIIIIIIL!' situation? Seriously, Lex must have something wrong happening in that head of hers.
IC: Looking quietly at the door, Alinor stood, stalling for a moment. It was dark and dank inside the front room of Wilfric's secret home, growls of the Darkness's demonic pets growling behind him.
He stepped through the door, instantly greeted by a sudden brightness foreign to the shack, momentarily blinding the mage. Instantly the cruel growling was replaced by the hustle and bustle of the blissfully ignorant city.
Alinor wasted no time, and quickly began the walk towards the Talos Plaza. He made long strides, with his head held high. No amount of scarring or defeat would change his Altmeri and mage's pride.
He did, however, immediately stop the moment he neared the house that he assumed belonged to the woman Wilfric had begun flirting with earlier. But, along with the expected dull, however powerful, presence of Wilfric, he felt another, more sudden energy: a Shade he had not yet met. Both were coming from the house.
He took a step towards the building, but stayed himself in mid step. Wilfric was truly intelligent; he knew this, even in the very short time he had known him. He would be able to handle the situation, perhaps he even planned it. He retracted his foot, took a step toards a wall, and leaned against it. Alinor was a patient man, he could wait once again, for the business inside to finish.

Shelby's head bolted upright the moment she sensed it, a feeling not unlike that of Wilfric's presence below, but with a low thrum of power behind it rather than a feeling of greasiness. She guessed he/she/it had stopped a fair distance away, possibly waiting on Wilfric as well. That it was a Shade there was no doubt.
Wow, didn't know the house owner was throwing a Shade party today. Of course, I doubt she did either. she thought with amusement, placing her ear back to the floor.
This day just gets better all the time...

OOC: I'm so glad nobody likes Lex. She is indeed more than half-mad, made worse by the whole switching sides biz. But seriously, why the insistence on being jerks on this forum? New thread coming up, and remember: I hold the power to effect your DOOM people.
