I really do feel like I should warn you for that post, dear Vrek, but it wasn't aimed at anyone, and it was exemplary, so I'll let it slide. Careful with the aggression and political/religious references. People will just start bickering, and then I'll get dragged in, and then this whole place will crash and burn, which surprisingly wasn't my original plan for the place.
I meant we were all led by individual beings, angels for Lights, demons for shades, and then there is 'the big voice' for each side controlled by me and possibly web.
But i see what you mean. To be honest, I felt like there was a fundamental flaw in the original too, though I can't put my finger on what. :/ I'm really not sure how I'm going to do this.

Alright, just in my defense there real quick, then it's done: I'm an American who wasn't raised in the Deep South, we all share our views on the previous president there. And a single person in a religion does not paint the picture for the rest, no matter who he is. If anyone wants to do a bout of fisticuffs with me for it, I'll gladly do it over PM. But I still say he's an evil bastard though.

Good qualification there, I feel.
Seriously though, guys. Should we remake Beacon, or would it be more interesting/better if I created a similar idea (good, evil, special powers) but an entirely new RP? There are some major flaws in the whole idea which made me get overly stressed with the first one, and which I don't think I can overcome with this version. If someone else wants to take it over, that's fine, but I don't think anybody does, so I need suggestions.

What flaws were in the first? If we knew what you thought was wrong with the thing, then perhaps we could offer suggestions to fix it, but as it is, looking back on it, I can't really find any sort of flaw in its works. The missions were a bit weak, but that's easily fixed, and the players seemed to run TOO independent of each other... But fix the former, and the latter should fix itself. A remake of Beacon should be entirely possible, and I am eager to give the Shades another run.
However, it is up to you, IN. If you have a good idea for another, similar RP, then pitch it to us and we'll decide between the two. If not, then we can simply remake Beacon and try to rework the flaws that you saw within it.

Frightening as it is, I'm with Web on this one. I think that any slight flaws that were present in the original can be tweaked with and fixed.
With that said, aside from the issues mentioned by Webster, I think that perhaps the Shade side was a touch too...chaotic? The Lights seemed to have a sort of organization structure going, but the Shades seemed a little too independent of one another. Maybe instituting a sort of hierarchy among them would help in that respect? (Though not too organized...they are still the evil, murdering bastards, after all...)
Also, I really liked what you did with Lex when she decided to go all dark side, IN; the fact that the darkness was able to distort her perceptions to make her see what it wanted her to. If you were to introduce that, perhaps with a lesser degree, to the other Shades, it could introduce an interesting aspect to things.
Of course, in the end it's up to you, Illusionary. Don't make an RP you think will stress you out just for our sakes. After all, you deserve to enjoy your creation too! So if you want to try something else, I say go for it, and just try to have fun with it.

The problem was, mostly; time. I wanted it to be freeform, but nobody ever seemed to have any concept of getting to sleep, and so a single day had a whole weeks worth of events in it, and I had on hope of moving things on. That's a hard thing to fix, particularly when everyone is on opposing sides.
We also needed at least two more Changed 'normal characters' and a few less Chosen (powered characters). And it was impossible for me to explain the differences between Light and Dark to people; that the Darkness was essentially self-serving and looking to betray even its own, and that the Light didn't want to kill, but convert, and that Undecideds would be slowly growing more and more mad. It's too complicated an idea to actually work in an RP, because it means a part of people's posts are a very specific character (the darkness and light will be a certain way) which is something its hard to cope with.
And you say that I have to explain myself so that you can fix it, but that's not how it works; I explain myself, and then I have to fix it. It's the same problem I had, in the end, with BoTA, but much subtler and on a much larger scale; it's too hard to police and run on my own, but that's all I can really do.
*sigh*. I'm really working on it guys. I want you to have an RP you enjoy, and I liked Beacon. It's just difficult.

Perhaps we could choose something that happens to our character, within reason? I guess like eye color changes or perhaps some other stuff. Color changes, voice changes, skin color, hair color? Idk. I'd like the RP to come alive again. As long as we're confident we can keep it going, I'm game once again. I don't have any real suggestions about changing or adding/taking away anything atm, but I could later. Maybe if we can't manage healthy balances between Shade/Light/Normal, then maybe we could just take out the ONLY NORMAL PEOPLE CAN KILL THE LIGHT/SHADE PEOPLE, and maybe bring in some other thing. Like maybe- EDIT: Silly me. I didn't read all the posts. A similar RP may be good too, if you feel you can't manage this one. I am in no state of mind to control too much of an original RP like this, so... Idk. Just whatever works I guess.

Time passage can be an Achilles' Heel of role playing. It tends to be hard to coordinate.
But on the subject of the RP's renewal, I liked how the original system worked, as you just re-explained. I'm all for a new one, if you decide to do so. Just make sure you're not taxing yourself too much. You're running two RPs as it is.
