A single bead of sweat began to form on the side of Casca's head. This woman was determined, resolute. He had to admit, he was beginning to feel nervous; but he had to keep his wits sharp. It was the only way he would survive this. Well, there was one other way... His mind wandered momentarily to the bag that he had left by the gate. But it was several feet away; there was no way he could reach it before...he didn't want to think about it. His eyes narrowed at the woman. "Really? Regardless of what I may have been doing- which you would have no proof of- I do not think the guards would look kindly on person clad in armor gutting an innocent man with a halberd in the streets." His smile widened ever so slightly. -------------------------------------------------- Nervously, Yakel followed Dorien into the sitting room, taking a seat in an armchair across from him, leaning forward and wringing his hands. He does- I- I can't believe it!"I- I thought I was the only one!" He stammered, his expression brightening. He took a breath and continued steadily. "I can't tell you how relieved I am to know this, I-" He stopped for a moment. Dare he ask? Swallowing hard, he looked Dorien dead in the eye. "I have the same three powers you described, but there is another thing. If...if I sound crazy to you, please, just disregard what I'm about to ask. In fact sometimes I wonder if I am just insane. I feel like...like there's something besides myself when I think. Like something else listening. And it's horrbile, it tells me terrible things, it tries to convince me to act differently that I normally would. Sort of. Er- am I making any sense at all?" He looked somewhat hopelessly at Dorien. OOC: Chan-Taka coming in soon. I haven't forgotten.

Vic gave a defiant chuckle in response to the man's comment, her mouth forming a slight half smile. "I learned a long time ago that sometimes, you need to bend the rules to get things done," she explained confidently. "Besides, that Dunmer you spoke to earlier seemed like a feisty one; you've already taken care of the guards for me."
Vic pulled back her weapon, her gaze now locked on the villain before her. "I'm going to stop you and that slimy bastard you serve, no matter what it takes!" she hollered, before lunging forward, the point of her halberd aimed at the man's chest.

Casca had barely had time to stumble back before the tip of the halberd came shooting towards him. He hadn't even had time to panic. It wasn't until a moment or two after his back hit the stairs that he realized the halberd had gone right through him.
His face went sheet white, sweating profusely, an expression of shock on his face. His hand lifted up to touch the pole that was sticking out of his chest, but he withdrew it. His vision became distorted, blood rushing to and fro in his veins. His arm reached behind him, groping for that bag.
Coughing, his hand grasped something cloth, and he fumbled into it, not having the strength to bring it closer. When a papery material was felt, Casca held it tight, muttering a word in Daedric through clenched teeth.
Instantaneously, the bag burst into flames. The scrolls, the cloth, and the skooma, all burning. Drawing his hand back, Casca let his arm lay limply at his side. Then his eyes turned to the woman.
They fixated on her, filled with loathing. As Casca's breathing began to hurt more, his vision became still more distorted. Soon the woman was nothing more than a blur. He blinked hard, trying to refocus his sight. He stared flaming daggers into the woman, teeth clenched. Opening his mouth, he spoke through a croaking voice.
"H-hope it was worth it."
He relaxed his body, his sight fading away completely.
I'm so sorry, master...
Casca's body stopped moving entirely, still as a rock.
OOC: Illusionary, I don't know how you want the banishing to appear, and I don't want to muddle it up, so I'll let you describe that, if you don't mind.

OOC: I would have been happy with whatever you chose, but I'll enjoy doing it. Thanks. Casca can be released from banishment whenever serves you best, as its determined by how much of a message the darkness is trying to leave on him. IC: Slowly, tiny slivers of darkness flowed from the nearby shadows and slivered up Casca's body, pulsing and seeming to grow larger, more solid, like a host of leeches feeding off of his body. Soon, he was completely consumed by them, not a bit of him there to be seen. Then they all collapsed to the ground with nothing supporting, now actual physical leeches, that disappeared in a puff of fire and were gone. There was nothing left of Casca. ----------------------- Casca was burning in torturous, excrucitating flames, incarcerated in a husk of a body, flesh burning repeatedly and turning blacker and blacker, flesh melting away beyong recognition. Before him, a massive face, made entirely of shadows glared down at him, its eyes wide and full of malice, its mouth huge and empty, save for shining, cruelly long teeth. It screamed at him. When the time came for Casca to be released, that mouth would swallow him up. Oh, he'd return, but changed, a bit more of his soul shackled to the darkness. "You failed me, Casca!" The voice bellowed. It's voice was terrible to behold, a sickening quality that enduced nausea as well as pain. The moving of its mouth was repulsive and terrifying all at once. OOC: I leave the rest in your capable hands.

Horrible, bloodcurtling, ear-piercing screams erupted from Casca the instant he found himself in this...this horrible oblivion.
Though his flesh burnt, his eyes cracked, and his very teeth seemed to be as red hot as the metal on the Imperial gates he had stood before only moments ago, these were not the worst of his torment. He felt alone. Isolated. More so than he had ever come close to on Tamriel. He felt like he was being digested alive. Every second seemed like years. Every passing moment was more horrific than the last. He was curled up on the 'floor' in a ball, teeth clenched, his entire body shaking violently. No matter how much he screamed, the agony did not lessen, only increase. Even so when he managed to stifle his cries.
"You failed me, Casca!"
His master's voice no longer gave him that euphoric rush that he had felt when he was alive. It was terrible...so terrible...so consuming...so...so horrific...
"MASTER!" He cried out in desperation, in pleading brokenness. "THE LIGHT! THE LIGHT, MASTER! THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO!"
"Yes there was! You could have been more careful! You could have avoided her! There were a thousand alternatives, and you took none!"
"I- FORGIVE ME MASTER! I BEG YOU!"
A force that felt like a thousand times the strength of an Ogrim suddenly threw Casca from the ground, carrying him high into the air and slamming him against a vertical surface. His already blackened skin cracked and bubbled against the white-hot surface.
"I'm going to send you back, Casca. Don't think for a second that your job is finished! But first, I think we need to have a heart-to-heart..."
OOC: I'll keep him there for a few posts. Maybe an hour in Tamriel, but much, much longer in whatever inferno he's in right now.

Victoria watched with a cold, unwavering expression as the darkness swarmed over the body of the man, consuming it whole. Within moments the body had vanished, the leeches that had consumed it gone in a flash of fire. Nothing remained to mark the man's passage but the pile of ash from the bag he'd burned, and the blood that stained the edge of Vic's weapon a dark crimson.
With the man gone, his presence no longer at the edge of her consciousness, Vic turned her attention to the gate before her. The heated metal bars hadn't fully cooled, and were still malleable, to a point; there was still time. Raising her weapon into the air, drops of blood staining the ground beneath it, she struck angrily at the bars, warping and twisting them until the bonds the man had forged were broken. She did this until every weld had been unmade, and the gate was open once again.
"H-hope it was worth it." Those had been the man's last words, to her, or anybody. Returning her weapon to her back, she turned away from the scene, and headed once again for the streets of the city.
"It was," she said quietly under her breath, casually making her way back towards the Talos Plaza. "And I'll be coming for the rest of you soon enough."

OOC: I so apologize for this total OOC post, but due to issues IRL, I won't be able to properly RP. From time to time I may be able to post during this period, but I'm not so sure. I'd probably have to have someone interact with Klace first or something...
Hopefully my absence won't be much longer, but I will check this RP and attempt to post when I need to.

Wilfric laughed, as though he were embarrassed about his actions, producing the bag and handing it to the beggar. "Right right, I'm sorry. But, we in the Guild have to be a bit more cautious now. Especially when what I am planning is indeed so ambitious... There aren't many that would even THINK of doing something like this." He pointed out, playing to the man's thought that he was an amateur Guild member. Inside, though, Wilfric was smiling. And not in a kind way. Yes, you have your coin beggar, and your food... But just you wait until that food begins to get through your system. Can't have you telling anyone that is ACTUALLY from the Guild my plans, now can I? He thought cruelly, his mind picturing the juicy red apple that lay within the bag. Hehe, that beggar wouldn't know what hit him. "Now, that you have your coin. What kind of chores do they usually come out to run? And, how will I recognize these servants?" He asked, flicking his gaze habitually towards the Waterfront's opening to the harbor, as though he were checking for arrivals. In actuality, he was simply impatient to go and find these servants. Every moment that passed let the election progress further, and he wanted to get this done as soon as possible. And, if the man could detect the haste in his voice, it would likely only be attributed to the size of the task that he was apparently sizing up. The beggar caught the bag with ease and smiled, digging out the apple from within. Unknowing of what would befall him, he bit the fruit and chewed, 'hmming'. "Tey run stuffs like groceries an' supplies. Concilor Serisan's is usuallly hangin' 'round the book store, gettin' paper stuffs for Serisan. Tey usually got more prettiness than most peoples, so tey stan' out kinda big like. An' they dond get 'round at night, 'fraid o' gettin' robbed." The man explained, as he continued to bite and chew on the apple. He looked about ready to say something else, when he felt his voice leave him. A tingle ran down his spine, and he pointed at the apple with shock on his face. The inside was... pale green. He tried to say something, tried to speak further, but ended up collapsing to the road with his eyes rolling back in his skull, the apple tumbling from his hand and rolling down the cobblestones.

Wilfric smirked, as he saw the man collapse to the ground. "Why, thank you. That's all that I needed to know..." He whispered, before he stepped backwards, melting into the shadows. As the cry came from noticing the poor beggar, lying deceased in the center of the road, Wilfric was already changing, his body twisting and narrowing, shrinking back into the shadows as though they were swallowing him, devouring parts of him to hide him from the gaze of those that would be seeking him out.
His skin roughened, the already pale, waxy skin whitening even further, turning milky and clouded, as a diamond pattern appeared all over his skin, interlocking in a fine mesh that covered his entire body. His eyes, normally piercing and intelligent, became outright malevolent, as his irises suddenly clouded with a light crimson color, that deepened with each passing second until they were the color of blood. "Sssssserissssannnnn..." Wilfric whispered, his voice turning into a deep, hoarse hiss.
And, as the men gathered around the deceased beggar, their eyes sweeping the crowd that milled about the Waterfront, none of them noticed the milky white snake, its eyes burning as bright as the fires of Oblivion itself, slide past them, hugging the corners of the dilapidated houses so that it blended with the shadows. Wilfric's information was complete... And now... He was going to go and complete the mission his Master had ordered him to begin...

Nervously, Yakel followed Dorien into the sitting room, taking a seat in an armchair across from him, leaning forward and wringing his hands. Dorien listened to Yakel intently. “Yes, you make perfect sense,” the powerful mage told him. His expression was sad. “There is something that clings to all Chosen- something called the Darkness. You see, we were created to shape the world into something good, but somewhere along the way, this multi-being attatched itself to us… trying to persuade us to do terrible things in its service in exchange for power. What they do not realise is that, if the Darkness gets its way, all will be destroyed: including them.” Dorien seemed very sad. “The Light, the forces of Good, cannot speak to us until we actively decide to take a stand against the darkness. But the support us against such evil. They strive to save the world.” He stood, beckoning to Yakel to follow. “I’m afraid you were born to a task that seems too big for any of us to fulfil. Come here.” He led him to the wall where the propechy stood, hidden behind a bookcase. Sliding the bookcase aside, the prophecy was clear for all to see. “Since the Dawn of Time, there have always been the Chosen. Those few marked from birth to make changes upon the world, those with the power to shake Nirn at its very foundations. Sometimes they lived out their lives unaware of the powers within them and the fate that marked them. Sometimes they stepped up and changed the world, for good or ill. But always, the Changed were there to save them.
But then the Darkness came. Every hundred years, when the Chosen rise, the Darkness takes them, and changes them, perverts their powers and their minds for its purposes.
And the Light tries to fight it, giving strength to those who choose to stand against the corruption living within their own bodies. But Light and Darkness cannot live without the other, and so neither can bring the other true death.
Only the Changed have the power to bring death, but the Darkness wants to control the Changed, and so they know not of what happens. And the Light wants to protect the Changed, and so they know not of what happens.
But the time will come when all Nirn is in ruins And time will stand still The Lights will stand on one side And the Angels will attend them And the Shades will stand on one side And the demons will serve them And between it all, The Promised Ones, The Changed and the Gods Which way the scales tip will decide the fate of all of Nirn In the City of White and Gold On the day the sun does not rise.”Dorien read it out to Yakel, and then looked at the Chosen. “I’m afraid that the day when the Sun does not rise is coming- and coming soon. The days are growing shorter, and angels- and I fear demons- have been appearing, signalling the sign of the end of all days. But I fear the Darkness is too strong: all will be destroyed, if there is nobody else who will stand against it.” He looked at Yakel desperately. “We need help. I will not force you to choose, Yakel, but choose you will, or madness will take you.” Wilfric laughed softly as the man muttered that he may need more coin, before producing a second, bigger bag. "Well, if you give me the answers I seek, there are four times that amount in this bag." Wilfric promised. "As well as a bit of food for that belly of yours." He lowered the bag back beneath his cloak, so that the man couldn't get to it unless he offered the answers that Wilfric sought. "The information I need is quite valuable. You see, I am planning a heist that is a bit... grand, on the scale. Of the Councilmen, as a matter of fact." Wilfric whispered, keeping his voice low so that the others that passed them by could not hear. "In order to gain access to them, though, I need a bit of information. Not about the Councilmen themselves, but of their servants. Who serves whom, and where I may find them. This will be of infinite help to me, and to the Guild." Wilfric paused, watching the beggar carefully. He had offered a bit more bait, now he just had to wait and see whether the beggar would take it. "Ya be an ambitious one, ain't ya?" The beggar remarked, pocketing the current coins and looking at the second bag as it slipped into the man's coat. A small grin played over his dirtied face. "Apparently ya ain't taught etiquette like ya used to be. Ya wan' info, ya give coin. No info wit'out coin first." "For yer curren' price... Most councilmen live in them rooms in ta Palace. Guards and all that. Never been in, never seen. The servants livin' with 'em mostly, an' o'ly come out for chore stuff." ---------------------- Lee skid to a halt on the Red Ring Road, kicking up painted dust clouds as he slowed himself and stood steady. He was staring at a framed picture hanging on a water-colored depiction of an ancient ruined fort. Likely the picture hanging on the wall in the real world was showing a picturesque view of the Imperial City from across the lake. But it really could be showing anything, for all he knew. it was what he saw of the real world through that picture that made him pause. It was a low class inn, and there were darkly lit tables with people actively eating and drinking. But what he noticed was two people sitting at a table in the far corner. One had his back to him, the other was- Lex! Lee stared at the woman, it had to be her. The same bright, wild golden eyes, the same wild and adventurously exciting image about her. It had to be her. But the other on... the man. He was in a dark robe, with golden shoulder pieces, and had an intricate staff. Lee had seen the man somewhere, he knew it. That auburn hair and that quartz ball. Who was he? Obviously a mage, but the rest eluded the young scholar/artist. And in the moment that he stood still within the world of art, his form became visible in the painting that hung on the wall, a burgundy dressed man with spectacles and a longsword standing on the Red Ring Road, with the Imperial City in the background. Looking right at Lex. No, it is better you do not meet her. She has no interest in you. Who ever would? Lee heard the voice whisper, and for a moment he considered going out there and seeing her anyways, simply because the voice had said not to. But the voice had a point... And he was not aware the Darkness had other plans for turning him away from the light. Turning away from the frame with a downhearted sigh, Lee continued his search for the painting he sought. That one simple movement caused his form to disappear from the painting on the wall of the Feed Bag. Gone. --------------------- Phorease rose an eyebrow in inquiry at her little joke, not quite catching her drift. Then again, he was a sorcerer, and maybe it was a roguish joke, so he didn't know the necessary information to understand it. Unless she meant nobles stealing from the poor. Why did he always have to be clueless, one step behind, with this woman? He watched her approach the counter, eyes naturally roving her form as she moved, until he realized what he was doing and diverted his gaze to his mug. Don't let her think you are some sex-crazed pervert. Then your chance at answers, or even a friendship, are out the window, chap. He told himself, staring at the liquid in it. When was this mug filled? He wondered as Lex approached, displaying her dexterity as she balanced both plates and handed Phorease the larger of the two. Smiling, he looked down at the food, and then frowned. It was a near raw piece of venison. Well, not raw, but the blood was pooling on the plate beneath the meat, suggesting the cook had used the blood like a marinade. Hesitantly, Phorease poked the meat with his fork and then sliced a piece. Yep, rather pink on the inside there. he thought, lifting up the piece and looking at it at eye level, as if his stare could fully cook it. Then he looked at Lex around the piece, and saw that she was grinning as she watched him. So lighthearted and happy. Discrediting the food of her class might shatter that uniquely pretty grin and his hopes at anything past a hello in the future. Shrugging, Phorease cast his own smirk. "Never hurts to try something new, I suppose." He remarked before putting the meat into his mouth and chewing. It brought back more memories than he had anticipated, and he seemed to droop as he chewed, even though his chewing indicated a delight for the flavor. it was good... but it was so much like his childhood, that life he had abandoned. Lex watched Phorease, her expression unreadable, although her golden eyes were bright. Dare she ask him this? Dare she take someone with her, when she was always alone? Something glimmered with strange magic in the corner of her vision: her eyes slid to the painting on the wall. It glowed bright with magic she was coming to recognise as that of the Chosen. But there was another form in the familiar picture: the receding back of a man. She frowned at it, but the magic faded, and the man disappeared. She shook her head, and looked back at Phorease. My sight does the strangest things... she thought. She didn't always understand what it was showing her, as it was often symbolic- although in this instance, it was pretty literal, whether or not she recognised it. She watched him uncertainly for a moment. Bright-Eyes... don't do this... he will shoot you down and wound you more than ever... why would he ever want to spend time with one such as you? the darkness whispered, trying to shatter her confidence. Lex hesitated, then thought, Well, he came this far, right? The darkness gave no answer. "Phorease..." she said carefully. Her expression was wary, like an animal afraid of a beating. "Would you like to come for a walk with me... as... animals?" She knew this wasn't what the darkness wanted her to do, but she didn't want to do the darkness' thing just then. She wanted company- maybe even a friend, though she barely dared hope that anything of that sort could ever happen.

Phorease paused in mid-chew as she asked him to walk with her, a sudden elation rising within him. It quickly fell when she completed the request, and instead was replaced with bewilderment. He was about to open his mouth when the movement of his jaw made the meat within shift; he became aware he was chewing before the question and set about completing the original task first.
He'd lowered his fork as he was chewing though; if etiquette held at least partially between aristocratic and common folk, it would be a sign he intended to answer, not continue eating. When he swallowed he did just that, leaning back in his chair and grinning. "What an odd request. I feel I should be flattered." One hand moved to his staff, grasping it as if preparing to leave. The other waved in the air casually. When she finds out just how boring your form is to be around, what do you think she is going to do? The small voice in his mind asked, and he considered the question only briefly.
Simple. She'll leave. However, if I deny her request for a walk, she'll be insulted and leave. I'd rather her leave bored than insulted.
"If you don't mind walking around with an Alligator Snapping Turtle, I see no reason why not." Phorease proclaimed, and then rose from his seat, staff in hand. He grabbed his plate and moved backwards to the table behind them, setting the plate down.
"Here you go folks. On me. I've only had a few bites and I'm not as hungry as I had thought." He told them, before heading back to the table and holding a hand out to Lex. "Shall we crawl?" He grinned. ------------------ Finally Lee had found it; one of many 'its' actually. he could see through the frame now. There was his bed, his dresser, and several of his other canvases. He could even see the painting of the partly finished horse. That picture made him frown.
Focusing himself, and willing himself to be in that world beyond the frame, his body became a small ball of light before it zipped from the picture on the wall and into the center of the room. with a glimmer he reformed, all in one piece. he couldn't help but smile. "Awesome... It actually worked... this is amazing!" With a silly grin on his face he set about packing his necessaries for a move to Beacon Manor.

Alinor had felt him, if just for a moment. He looked around him, among the streets of the water front. He turned, decided on a direction and began his slow paced walk, still looking. His gaze shifted downwards, though, when something bumped against his foot. There lay an apple, barely eaten. A few more steps forward revealed a beggar, dead on the ground, with a fast growing crowd around him.
The bandaged Altmer scoffed. That was his work, wasn't it? In truth, he knew little of the Darkness's Champion, Wilfric, but Alinor was no fool. A silent sort of agreement came from the voice he held in such strong contempt. "So where is he now?" he muttered to himself, not seeing Wilfric among the crowd.

With deliberate calmness and precision, Victoria moved through the streets of the Imperial City, paying little heed to the pinpricks of crimson that dotted along behind her. She'd done what the vision had shown her to do; kept the gates of the city open. Now she was off to do...what? She wasn't sure what she should be doing now, only that it felt like she was being led somewhere.
Traversing the city almost as if in a trance, Victoria quickly found herself back in the Talos Plaza. Lost in the will of whatever force was guiding her forward, she made her way towards a large manor situated in the district. Before she was fully aware of what she was doing, she found herself raising her hand, and knocking idly on the door.
Breaking out of her daze, Vic suddenly snapped back to attention. What was this place? And why had she gone there?
She had a feeling she was about to find out...

OOC: Dorien and Yakel are there: aka me and Tom. IC: Beacon Manor:
A servant girl opened the door, to see a warrior-like woman. "Thank the Gods, another! Please, come in, my Lady. Master Dorien will be excited to see you, I am sure..." She gestured Victoria in with an excited curtsy.
----------
Lex had tried not to get her hopes up, but when Phorease agreed to come, she brightened immensely. "Alligator snapping turtle?" she enquired. "I've never heard of those..." She watched as he paid for the meal, surprised by his light manner. When he reached out his hand to her, she grinned. You were wrong! she told the darkness in her mind. You were wrong! she felt elation grow. He was at the very least willing to spend time with her as an animal.
"Follow me," she said, refusing his hand with a playful smile rather than out of disgust or discourtesy. Lex was not at all like other women: she didn't play the maiden. She played the wolf.
She withdrew into the shadowy corner, ready to teleport them somewhere fun. "You can work on your landing," she informed him.

The smooth scales of the serpent underbelly made only the slightest of whispers against the stone streets, as Wilfric slowly twisted and turned his way through the city, towards where he assumed his target would be. It was going to be a short trip from the Waterfront over to the bookstore, but it was going to be worth it in the end. He had to fulfill his destiny, and complete the transition of power from Light to Darkness, as was prophesied...
As he twisted down an alley, the snake's skin began to bubble, pushing itself inexorably upwards. As the skin drew tight, it couldn't contain the force welling up inside of it, and split, to reveal an inky blackness within the diseased and venomous serpent's heart, which immediately overflowed on the ground. It didn't stop moving, though, even as it pulled itself upright, the darkness swirling around and around before forming a vague silhouette of a man, calmly walking along the alleyway as though nothing were amiss.
A light wind blew, and the darkness around Wilfric scattered, as he raised his hands, to slick back his hair and make sure that every last hair was in its place. That transformation always did make it look like he had gone and spent the wildest night imaginable with one of the womenfolk around here. Once every bit was in place, Wilfric's sallow lips pulled back into a smirk, as he reached into his cloak. Withdrawing his small staff, attached via a small loop inside of his cloak, he set it lightly against the ground, whistling a jaunty tune as he strode through the city.
That had been fun...
