Well, even if this doesn't get far because nobody posts, I might as well post up my character sheet, since I've been fiddling with it so much.
I hope it's acceptable....
Name: Bristle
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Race: Indefinable, formerly Bosmer
Birthsign: The Theif
Hair: Spiky, black, interspersed with green strands
Eyes: Completely coated with a quicksilver colouring
Height: 4ft8 (became slightly smaller from spike)
Physical description: The power spike left her completely unrecognisable as who - and what - she once was. Her skin aquired a look of black mercury, seemingly liquid yet still solid in shape, and unusually reflective. Her hands now have long, deadly talons, her bodily shape warped into a dark, black,
thing, fluid yet substantial, with green-tipped spikes along her spine, arms, and legs. The ones on her back and arms prick up and stiffen at danger, acting as a kind of animalistic protection. Her skin hardens and becomes less meshy and more crystalline to touch when she is threatened, and this resists all forms of magicka which come into contact with it, though is easily cut through and very malleable. Her mouth twisted into something more representative of a creature from the depths of Oblivion, and she now has sharp, pointed teeth, which stick out from her black lips, hardly discernable from her skin. She grew a strong, twisted horn atop her head, which gets in her way whenever she looks upwards. She maintains some feminine traits, and her primary pose is an alert crouch, similar to the posture of a stalking human.
Bristle is very hard to spot at night, due to her dark, reflective covering, and though her claw-like hands make it hard to handle objects, they are useful for climbing and scaling buildings. During the daytime she is much easier to spot, since her skin reflects the light so well, and it tends to be easy to spot shining objects - provided she is not hidden from view.
Skills: Sneak, Acrobatics
(enhanced), Marksman
(impossible), Athletics, Speechcraft
(impaired)Abilities: Her new form makes it so that though she can resist magicka, she is more vulnerable with physical attacks if they come before she can react. This means she is relatively useful for dispatching mages, but when in a physical fight, she has to evade the danger, or just attack via stealthier methods.
About Character: Once a skilled archer, with a sharp eye and an even sharper tongue, Bristle's new form has left her unable to handle objects properly, and she is now physically incapable of using a bow, and finds speech much more trying and much less necessary. She has found her reflexes are much better, however, and being very well-balanced before the change, has adapted to her new form very quickly and found she is a lot more agile than before. And more lethal. Her new body has it's disadvantages when it comes to weilding weapons, but after a couple bad encounters following her transformation, she has discovered she is still fully equipped to take on the world, should it decide to nip her in the butt any more than it already has. Quite literally, Bristle bites back.
Personality: Events after the magicka spike have left her constantly alert, edgy, and fearful of not being able to control her new self properly under stressful circumstances, forcing her to avoid any likely confrontations with many strangers. The power surge has left her with new confidence, however, and she feels she can take on the world, if she had to. This often conflicts with her sense of avoiding danger, and she will sometimes investigate into things even though her edgy self does not want to, purely because she believes it wouldn't do her too much harm if she did find trouble.
Being alone for the past couple of weeks has left her craving company, and a deep desire to find out how she became like this, and why. This isolation has also led her to explore her new abilities in great depth, and she has found that she quite enjoys what she is, having no reason for much interaction with other people and with little recollection of her former life to compare it with.
Bristle retains a small portion of her original self, however, as the inquisitive Bosmer nature still holds strongly with her, as well as her attitude towards those who expect her to be easily overcome (even though she knows this is usually the case).
Weapons: Sharp talons, jagged teeth, numerous spikes on calves, arms, back, and head, sharp horn which can impale.
Apparel: Ragged green dress, initially a pretty, if plain, gown, now muddied, with the skirt torn and ripped from having such a deformed and careless wearer.
Bio: The magicka spike made Bristle lose more than just normality. Her memory is "broken", as she refers to it, and she cannot remember much of her former self or her previous life. What she
does remember, is feeling like jelly and not being able to move about properly for two whole days after she "woke up", trying to learn how her new self functioned. An Altmer mage had stumbled upon her during a search for surviving parties after her village had been ransacked, and malisciously informed her that it was others of
her kind who had done the deed. Not fully understanding the situation she was in, the small Bosmer was caught off-guard when the mage tried to incinerate her with magicka, her meshy skin hardening against the harsh spell and prickling up at the man. Quite suddenly she found an urge to respond with the same courtesy the man had shown her, and leapt at him, her talons sinking deep into his unarmoured chest. Slowly recognising what she had done, she stood back from the man, horrified at not having consciously decided upon her previous action.
Since then, Bristle has hidden away, trying to stay away from much contact with anyone else, for fear of what they would do to her, as well as what she might do to them in turn. She has not spoken a word to anyone since the spike, but through experimentation has found she can talk, though it is tricky to for her to speak with much clarity, due to her misfigured mouth.
During her time in hiding, she has occasionally encountered other people, but has found she is exceptional at running away when trouble is imminent. The few other deformed and altered people she has happened across have either been insane and unstable, or attempt to kill her shortly after appearing in their line of sight (must have something to do shiny objects, she figures).
Misc. facts: She chose to adopt the name "Bristle" after the spike because of her instinctive reaction towards danger and her prickly appearance.
And, because it sounded cool to actually try and create something looking weird, I tried to recreate Bristle from another picture, and this is all I came up with (not entirely fitting her description): Bristle
