I would suggest doing it here, but I'm not entirely sure of my opinion. You will probably get more participants at BGSF, as well as a more steady flow of them (someone drops out, there's probably a few more willing to take his/her place). Not to mention that there are more new players with potential over there, as well as the fact that it was there that the original Dragon RP was birthed.
On the other hand, we have a few new members here, and we all know each other pretty well as far as forum-acquaintances go. So it kind of balances out for both places. BGSF has the potential for the improvement of new players, as well as variety. But putting an RP on BGSF is kind of a luck-of-the-draw sort of thing. You won't have an idea ahead of time as to what will happen and who will participate. Here, you have familiarity, and so I suppose this would be the 'safer' choice.
All things considered...I'd suggest taking the risk and running it on BGSF, and limit the number of players initially (to avoid a flood of activity followed by a screeching halt). Sure, it might not be an entirely reliable choice, but it will probably live longer there, and it will give a lot of inexperienced people a chance to improve drastically.

I agree with Tom., I'm sorta undecided. I think here is the safer choice; you can get a lotta crap in BGSF, especially with an influx of new people desperate to make a billion posts a day. We don't have that problem here; we're all lazy as it comes. But on BGSF there is a lot of potential, and a lot of new blood, and I really love playing with new RPers. It'll go faster, but I don't know if that's a good thing. Dragon's never went fast, and I wonder if that contributed to its greatness. *shrugs* I don't know which I'd go with. I do love it here, with all the folks I know and respect, but I also love it there, with all the folks I don't know but will learn to respect.

If you feel like handling a mental juggernaut, you can try both.

If you feel like handling a mental juggernaut, you can try both. After thinking about it, that may not be as hard as it sounds. I mean if you consider how slow things are over here then I doubt it would make too much of a difference whether it was on Illusionaria or not. But with that said BGSF is REALLY fast, seriously when a new RP starts (and when it has a lot of people, which this one would) you'll probably be getting 25 posts a day, if not more. Nonetheless I am not saying is easy obviously, but does seem possible, but it wouldn't be right to put that much pressure on you if you're unsure. ;D

Chriso has a very good point. I've seen RPs go through an entire thread within one day at BGSF. That can be extremely frustrating for everyone.
...what about a daily post limit? Give each participant, say, two posts per day? To begin with, at least. That way you could both keep the speed controlled and weed out ones that will drop out early. It will also give people a lot of time to think about their next post. That might help to avoid the scenario of three-or-so pages of short posts, filler, and people getting stuck in one place.

Ah see I love the idea, but knowing BGSF a post limit will do squat. They will likely just ignore it and go off on their stupid one line posts. Seriously you get people over there who post whenever their character seems to have a minor mention. Very annoying. But yeah I'd go for the post limit idea anyway, but you would have to be strict, and chuck them if they don't obey.

What I was considering is selecting, of a sorts. There are a few people on BGSF I would love to see participate. Phantasm is one such forumer, to just thrust out a name. There are quite a few newer players that while I think may have potential, they also would have untapped potential that would not come to fruition in such an RP. Does it seem too elitist, though, to invite a select few of my choosing from BGSF here to the forum, and hold it here? Of course, even then, this forum will still remain as sluggish as it always is The post limit idea might be difficult to implement. Considering I am already pushing back this RP due to college starting and me running around crazy with a new apartment and life schedule, I could never hope to manage one here and on BGSF. I mean... I can barely keep up roleplaying on BGSF right now...

But, like Frank, my time is pretty skint right now, and if Simmo's zombie RP starts I doubt I'll be able to do this. I mean I've had to quit my RP on BGSF, and even that was slow as hell.

Hmm. It's better to invite select people from there to come here than to host it there and say 'Sorry, only my pals get in'. The best part of BGSF is that you find new talent all the time. That being said, if you're worried about time, hosting it here is definately preferable. We are, afterall, very slow here. Slow but thoughtful.

To be honest, I don't think you really care, but over on BGSF then I'd have no chance of joining. It seems like Frank is in the same boat as well. And how nice of you to be thoughtful! ;D

To be honest, I don't think you really care ...about what? I meant everyone, what with all the good posts that come up here, but thanks!

Yeah, Illusionary, you've got a point.
Well, then, sometime late September will be likely when I am ready to start.

funny, if I recall that should be close to being exactly 3 years after your first (it started a while after I actively joined the roleplaying crew of BGS in the end of august 06) good luck with it.
