Oh man, I'd ride a tamed cliff racer to battle any day. But I agree with Vrek on the size of the world. It is very hard to make such a big world in the engine. Especially with Oblivions long view distance. I anyway felt like it was mostly forests and grass wherever I went.

I feel like we lost something with the updating to the Oblivion engine, then. Tamed cliffracers would be awesome though.
I do understand the limitations Vrek, but I don't approve of them.

With the upgrading of an engine, some features that might not seem as important at first might be lost. But there might be possible to create atleast something huger than Cyrodiil on the Oblivion-engine without problems now that your average computer is somewhat more advanced than when Oblivion came out. The limitation here seems to be what capabilities the Xbox 360 has.

I don't think that the limitations of the 360 should be that big of a problem this time around. Consider that Oblivion was one of the first games to come out on the 360: I don't think that publishers were quite sure what the console was capable of. Now that it's been a number of years since its release, I think they should be able to utilize it to its full potential.
Not all of us can afford top of the line computers, after all.

Well, no, but you can't tune down anything on the Xbox, like you can on the computer, and you have to render everything in 1920x1080. Which is a bitch.

If it's the Po tun from Akavir then they'd be screwed if they had the might to waste the Snake-men. Still I like the idea. Hopefully they add more lore element into it and some actual flavour rather than just dumbing it down so people dont have to use as much brain power to figure out what is going on.

Well, if they didn't go that lore heavy in Skyrim, it would be so that new players can come in without having to read a couple hundred books to get caught up. As somebody who'd never played a TES game before, going into Morrowind was...overwhelming. Granted, it was in a good way, but some people don't like that sort of thing. And Bethesda does want to appeal to a large audience, after all.
Also, just as a side note, how much interest is there in trying to continue the whole OC roleplay? I'd noticed that interest seemed to be waning before I went dark, and I'm curious as to whether many people would be interested in giving it another shot, or whether it should be left to die quietly.
Shameless sidetracking aside, I also really hope they improve the facegen system for Skyrim. It's been TERRIBLE in Oblivion and the Fallout games...

I dunno, back in morrowind you HAD to download a face replacer, because everyone looked like they came from the old Medal of Honor game for Playstation 1. Not that I could ever make anything useful with Oblivions facegen anyway, I much better liked Morrowind with face packs.

in that litle sidetrack, i think that general rp interest has waned for some reason, but i think we can keep it going, make a fresh start by skipping to the next day. think thats what everyone may have been waiting for, i was just filling things in with the whole 'own agenda' . back to the subject at hand.. Yes bethesda wants to appeal to a larger audience, but they also shouldnt destroy such good work because they want to have a large variety of players.. if they water it down too much then it will become like all the other RPG failures out there now.. The elders scrolls is quite frankly one of the last RPG series out there that still has promise.. thats why we all RP. If they fall to the pressure of making it more playable by everyone then it will become dare i say it.. fable

Oh, I dunno. I started playing The Witcher and found it very refreshing, what with it's somewhat interesting story and doubtful morals.

Well that is an awesome game because it has a story, fable never did have one really xD but thats what i meant about the TES series if they decide to remove most of the lore just so its easier for people to play, then it will be just like all the casual games.. i never want that to happen lol bacause i like rping.. which is why people need to post! lol..
